What is Digital Literacy Class?

The goal of the digital literacy program is to prepare students to be effective consumers and contributors in the second generation digital world. The 6th grade Digital Literacy course is aimed at helping students deepen their knowledge of computer hardware, software and digital information. Students will explore digital media and discover ways to effectively create, organize, access and evaluate information. Course content will evolve and reflect the changing needs of students as well as contemporary issues such as ethics and safety. The transferable skills students gain through their experience in this class will serve as the foundation for future exploration and use of digital technology and media.
